COMPENSATION TERMS

Degree of Match

Indicate how closely the responsibilities of your organization's position correspond to those of the survey position. The level of match can be less than (-), equal to (=), or more than (+) the survey definition. If your organization does not have the position, or if your position is significantly different from the position definition, do not provide data. Refer to the position's job description to ensure that your position matches the roles and responsibilities of the survey position.
 

Number of Employees

A headcount of all full-time employees in the position. Provide a whole number, not a full-time equivalent (FTE) value. Report the total number of full-time staff in the position.
 

Range Minimum

The minimum rate of your organization's pay scale or range. This is the lowest rate your organization will pay an employee in the position.
 

Maximum Hire

The maximum rate at which your organization will hire a new employee. Report your organization's actual practice for each position. For example, this rate could correspond to the range minimum, range midpoint, range maximum, or some point in between.
 

Range Maximum

The maximum rate of your organization's pay scale or range. This is the highest rate your organization will pay an employee in the position. If your organization does not have a range maximum, report the actual pay of the highest paid employee in the position.
 

Actual Average Base Pay

The average rate of all employees currently in the position. To calculate this value, add the hourly or annual rates of pay of all full-time employees. Then divide this sum by the number of employees in the position.
 

Actual Lowest Paid

The actual lowest rate of pay for employees currently in the position.
 

Actual Highest Paid

The actual highest rate of pay for employees currently in the position.
 

Union Position

Indicate if incumbents in the position belong to a formal bargaining unit recognized under the National Labor Relations Act (NLRA) by selecting yes or no.
 

Incentive Paid in 2018

Indicate if incumbents in the position received an incentive / bonus payment in 2018 by selecting yes or no.
 

Shift Differential Paid

Indicate if incumbents in the position are eligible for a shift differential when working evenings, nights, weekends, or holidays by selecting yes or no.
 

FLSA Status

A position which is not eligible for overtime payments as defined by the Fair Labor Standards Act. If the position is exempt, select exempt. If the position is classified as non-exempt (eligible for overtime payments after working 40 hours in a week), select non-exempt.
